3 Signs Geneva College Is the Right Choice for Your Online Degree

Geneva College makes sense

Choosing a college means facing a sea of seemingly endless options. And when you’re considering an online degree, your options increase even more. How can you possibly decide? It all comes down to finding a school that shares your values and provides the kind of environment that makes you feel comfortable and capable.

Geneva College provides a unique experience to our online students in every way, from our Christ-centered courses to the experts we hire to teach our classes. We believe our graduates walk away with a unique experience and marketable set of skills. But is our school right for you?

When we consider what our student body values about Geneva College, these three traits stand out. Which do you identify with?

You want to attend a college that understands the importance of your faith.

One of the biggest benefits of attending Geneva College is that we are a truly Christ-centered college. We incorporate his teachings into all of our courses, including our MBA program.

Instead of simply offering separate Bible classes or religion classes, we use the Bible as the foundation of each class and build on the lessons that it teaches. At Geneva College, you’ll take the same courses you would take to earn a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at another institution, but they will incorporate a unique Biblical perspective and other elements of faith in a way that you won’t get anywhere else.

Your education at Geneva College will prepare you not just for a career, but also for a life spent in the service of God both at work and in your personal life. We teach our students how to apply the principles and lessons learned from the Bible in the workplace and how to be a Christ-like leader in all that they do.

While many people obtain MBAs to help them advance their careers or make a shift into another industry, Geneva College will also teach you how to make ethical decisions in your home life, your volunteer commitments, and all of your other interactions. You won’t just learn how to be a leader in the conference room; you’ll also learn how to be a leader in your living room.

We understand how important our student’s faith is to them, and we incorporate that faith into their education and empower them to carry it with them into their future.

A small, highly connected community appeals to you.

At Geneva College, we have actively worked to create a small, close-knit community in each of our online programs. We have always been and always will be a small college, and we try to replicate that feeling in our online programs as much as possible.

Online education is, by its nature, isolated. You’re working with students who are spread out across the county and instructors who may not be in the same city, or even the same time zone, as you are. Combined with the self-paced programs that are becoming more common today, students can sometimes feel disconnected from their peers, which can make the learning experience less enjoyable.

To combat that possibility, we try to create an interactive classroom environment, even in our online programs.

When you start your classes at Geneva, you’ll be grouped with other students starting at the same time, and you’ll all be completing your courses together, with no one jumping ahead or falling behind. We have also established an online community for our students to facilitate interactions with each other and with their instructors as much as possible.

In addition, we keep our classes as small as possible, with typically 7-10 students in each course. Your instructors will have the opportunity to get to know you. You won’t just be an email address to them.

The Geneva online experience is an excellent choice for students who believe that they would benefit from a classroom experience but whose situation makes an online program more convenient. You can have both the convenience of an online program and the tight-knit community of an in-person program.

You want to learn from instructors who have relevant experience.

Many online programs aren’t designed with students in mind, especially when it comes to the instructors. Some programs have a professor who designs each class and is listed as the instructor when, in reality, a teaching assistant or doctoral student is interfacing with students and grading assignments.

At Geneva College, our classes are taught by real professors, not students or teaching assistants. You’ll get to learn from them and build relationships with them throughout your time in the course.

Often, our professors are actively working in their field of specialty, so you will be learning from people who are doing the kinds of jobs you’re interested in right now. One of our Criminal Justice professors is currently a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department, one of the largest police forces in the country. A professor in our Aging Services program is a nursing home director that currently runs a nursing home in Arizona, which has one of the largest populations of seniors in the country.

Since our bachelor’s and master’s programs are online, our instructors are selected from all over the country because of their knowledge and experience. By hiring the best experts in their fields to teach, we can provide a high-quality education to our students.

Is Geneva College the school for you?

Geneva College provides a unique experience to our students. While it may not be the right choice for everyone, those who want a small, tight-knit group of peers who share your values and the opportunity to learn in a Christ-centered environment will thrive in our programs.
